Venue: Newcastle University Business School, 5 Barrack Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 4SE

This event is free to attend and refreshments will be provided.

Newcastle University Business School is delighted to host internationally renowned communicator, writer and strategist Alastair Campbell, who is best known for his role as former British Prime Minister Tony Blair’s spokesman, press secretary and his director of communications and strategy.

Alastair will be in conversation with well-known local ex MP Chris Mullin, who is also a diarist whose work was featured in the play ‘A Walk on Part’ at Newcastle’s Live Theatre.  Alastair will explain how the increasingly influential role of key strategists such as himself has led to the adoption of modern business techniques within all political parties. He will give us the benefit of his years of experience and will discuss his personal involvement in the development of the Strategic Communications Agency. He will describe how the long-term legacy of the SCA has extended far beyond single party politics, with other political parties across the globe applying the same techniques.

Pre-order a signed copy of one or all of Alastair's diaries, which are available to us at a special discount. Click here to order, and your books will be available to pick up at the event (there will be a limited number of copies of each book available, early ordering advised).

We are sorry the registration is now closed this event is fully booked, if you have any questions please email: bsevents@newcastle.ac.uk
