North East Alumni Branch invites you to attend their latest free event
Date: Thursday 4 October 2012, 18.30
Venue: Newcastle University Business School, 5 Barrack Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 4SE
Mark Tinnion of the North East consultancy firm Violet Bick will be sharing his extensive knowledge and experience of working with huge global brands, including Intel, Sony, Nike, and Coca-Cola, with audience members attending 2012's second North East Alumni Branch main event.
After moving back to the North East in 2003, Mark began work to establish the North East's first Branding Consultancy business, using big-brand approaches with local firms of all sizes. Mark found that the principles and practices adopted by the big brands could be used to great effect by much smaller businesses, without the multi-million pound budgets.
Since the global recession hit and the world went mad in 2008, companies of all sizes have had to deal with shrinking markets and slashed budgets. Mark will show us how even the smallest business can adopt the tactics of global corporations to stop wasting money on ineffective marketing strategies, and brand themselves ahead of the competition.
In 2011 Violet Bick was launched – the first pure Brand Consultancy business in the North East. Within the first 2 months, Violet Bick had successfully attracted a former Director from Nike and former Head of Strategy from Saatchi and Saatchi to join their team. Since launch, they have worked with Local, National and International businesses to build their brands, producing outstanding tangible short- and long-term results.
During the evening Mark will share his take on branding vs marketing and how the tactics of global brands can be used in any size of enterprise, whatever their budget. Whether you’re a student, a new graduate, a business owner, or an employee in a larger organisation, the insights of the evening promise to leave your mind buzzing with new ideas and approaches to your promotional strategies.
The event will begin at 6.30pm on Thursday 4th October in the conference and events space at Newcastle University Business School.
The Branch welcomes regionally based Business School (and non -Business School) graduates, regional businesspeople and current Newcastle University students. To book your FREE place, please use the booking form below.
