'Motivating Cobblers, and other lessons in Corporate Entrepreneurship'
Newcastle University Business School is pleased to announce the 2012 Annual David Goldman Lecture will be given by the 2012 David Goldman Visiting Professor of Innovation and Enterprise, James Timpson, Chief Executive of Timpson, a family retail business based in Manchester.
Timpson is the largest shoe repairer, key cutter, engraver and watch repairer, with over 800 shops across the UK and Ireland. James has worked in all areas of the business, from branch manager to area manager, until joining the Timpson House team. The Timpson family has recently added the Max Spielmann business, consisting of 200 photo processing stores, to their impressive business portfolio.
Timpson is well known as being a great place to work and has recently purchased a seaside hotel to increase the number of holiday homes for colleagues.
James takes over from Tom Maxfield, who was sales director for Sage Group from 1984 until 1997, and has worked tirelessly with the Business School since his appointment.
This event is open to all and free to attend but prior Registration is required.
