Four enterprising postgraduate students have put their creative and business skills together by setting up a clothing company which aims to showcase the work of local and international artists and designers.

Marysia Apestegui, Xiaolei Peng and Norainni Md. Janai, who are studying MSc Arts, Business and Creativity and MSc Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship, have set up Grapefruit, a clothing company which sells limited edition printed t-shirts.

The company, which was originally set up to sell children’s t-shirts has now expanded into the adult clothing market. The majority of the designs are produced by the Grapefruit team, however, they also encourage students, as well as local and international artists and designers to contribute their artwork in order to use the company as a launching platform.  In addition, their profile information and upcoming event details are then posted on the Grapefruit website.

The team has received very positive feedback for their clothing range so far and are now considering increasing their offering to include other products such as cushion covers, bags, gift packages and personalised cards.
