The Business School is celebrating its growing connections as it recently established its first, official London Alumni Branch: set to reunite old friends, create new contacts and business development opportunities and above all be a mechanism for graduates to keep in touch in the UK’s capital.

With over 12,000 graduates dotted around the globe, the official establishment of the London Alumni Branch is a milestone for the Business School as it puts into practice its aim of creating a global network of alumni to provide an international support and networking system for graduates.

Heading up the London Branch as Chairman is Sam Waterfall, BA (Hons) Financial and Business Economics 1998, with Emily Yarrow as Vice Chairman, MA International Business Management 2010  and Ngozi Nwabineli, MBA 2006 as Secretary.

Joining the management team is: Vivek Unnikrishnan, Anita Arundova, Shelly Shi and Juan Shi.

Sam Waterfall, Chairman of Newcastle University Business School’s London Alumni Branch, said:

"I'm delighted to help establish the London Alumni Branch for Newcastle University Business School. Graduates of the school of all ages and across the diverse sectors we now represent, can help and support each other in many ways. I'm fortunate to have a highly committed core group who already represent views from multiple industries, age groups and countries. With their help, I'm enthusiastic about building a welcoming and inclusive network that delivers relevant and entertaining events as well as providing opportunities for developing new career, business and personal relationships. With so many alumni here in London, I know this branch will grow to become an asset to the Business School and to its expanding London membership. As Chairman, I'm very happy to play my part."

Newcastle University Business School’s Alumni Relations Manager, Tristan Alltimes said:

"We have been working hard to establish a London Alumni Branch for many years now and as the School’s 2nd largest concentration of graduates, outside Newcastle, it is a very important city for us to have representation in. I would like to personally thank the efforts of our alumni volunteers who have enabled this exciting and important development. Through their hard work, perseverance and dedication we can now look forward to regular events in the capital for all of the Newcastle University Business School and wider University family."

The London Alumni Branch have been holding some events over the past 6 months to build up awareness of their existence and to help provide an informal networking platform for graduates in London.

To date they have met in many restaurants/bars and visitor attractions across London and have enjoyed the opportunity to meet new people and build their personal and professional networks.

If you would like to get involved in their activities (or know any other graduates from Newcastle University that would like to get involved) you can join them online at Facebook or LinkedIn below.
