The Board of Students, which formed in 2010, have been working hard over the course of the year to provide Business School students with new academic, career and social opportunities.

Their latest conquest saw 160 postgraduate and undergraduate students adorn their smartest attire to attend the very first Business School Ball.

The ‘Red’ themed Ball was held on the 24th March at the Gosforth Mariott Hotel, and turned out to be hugely popular with students as they sat down for a three course meal, partook in a number of fundraising activities and then continued to dance into the early hours.

The Board of Students were responsible for every detail of the evening; from the menu and music, to the decorations on the tables.

Their fundraising efforts saw them raise a massively generous total of £400 which they chose to donate to St Oswald’s Hospice, where a number of students were placed for the Marketing Consultancy Projects this year.

The Business School are very proud of the Board of Students and what they have achieved already this year and we hope that the Ball can become an annual event that the students can look forward to.

The Board of Students were also heavily involved with the Business School’s first ever Career Development Week held in November 2010, which was also a huge success.
