Kelvin Li from China

MA International Financial Analysis

Kelvin Li“The multicultural environment in Newcastle was great! We lived and studied with people from all over the world - we not only talked about studies, but also learnt about each other’s cultures, shared our views about countries, politics, religion, dreams and much more… ”

Kelvin graduated from the Business School with an MA in International Financial Analysis in 2003. He feels that his degree was a door-opener for his career in the financial service industry. The course content was practical and useful, and Newcastle’s reputation as a good University helped him secure employment with top employers in China. Kelvin also met his wife while at Newcastle, where she was his classmate on the International Financial Analysis programme.

Since graduation Kelvin has held a number of positions in senior managerial capacity at reputed organisations, including Hewitt Associates and HSBC China. He is currently employed with Citibank China as Assistant Vice President, Fixed Income, where he is responsible for providing foreign exchange and related derivative products and advice to MNCs in China.

Kelvin says: “I became an alumni ambassador because it gives me a chance to find out more about the alumni community and what my friends are doing now. The networking activities are great for exchanging information about life, career, and family between alumni. More importantly, its good fun!”
