Newcastle University Business School’s International Advisory Board provides an external perspective on the School’s strategy and vision and helps the School with its wider engagement regionally, nationally and internationally. The Advisory Board plays an important role in achieving the School’s mission:
'To undertake research, attract and develop high quality students and faculty, promote learning, and work with organisations to encourage a global perspective and the responsible and ethical shaping of society'.
A message from the Chair of the International Advisory Board, Greg Smith, Senior policy advisor - Reserves and Youth at UK Ministry of Defence
We have a very clear vision – to be a world class business school, that is regionally rooted, nationally influential and globally respected. This is not a remote ambition and is reflected in the composition of our Advisory Board. Their role in it is to help bring this vision to life, provide strategic guidance and, importantly, independent advice and sound judgment.
Our members, representing the strands of our vision, are all highly accomplished and experienced people in their own fields. The rich mixture of diverse talent that we can draw on is of tremendous value to the School. Their knowledge and skills, grounded in the realities of business management, academic and public life, provide a great sounding board for the Business School. Their networks further enhance the excellent links, active dialogue and engagement we already have with the business community at all levels.
All this means that we are playing our part in ensuring that those that come to Newcastle University Business School – to learn, to develop professionally, to teach and to conduct research – can be sure that they get the very best that we can give them. This, in turn, will help businesses to perform, transform and innovate and to be well prepared to successfully meet the challenges of the future.
