Meet our Ambassadors 2011-2012
Rod Lundgren, MSc Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship
"Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, I am a proud Red Sox fanatic. I received my bachelors degree in screenwriting from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. During my 4 years here, I filmed several short films (from comedies to horror films and music videos), as well as wrote, directed and starred in two series for the ROAR network (LMU's television network). I also interned at NBC Universal, SyFy and Universal Pictures while in school and upon graduating landed an assistant position in Development and Programming at Universal Cable Productions. There I assisted two executives who oversaw 7 current shows as well as 22 series and 4 movies in various stages of development for USA Network.
After taking a chance to see my dreams become reality, I set my sights on a master's degree in Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship at Newcastle University. I love photography, cooking, writing and travelling. With all the traits of a starving artist and the dreams of a visionary entrepreneur, I am going along for the ride and seeing where this next year takes me. I do, however, have every intention of returning to Hollywood with a script or two inspired by this unpredictable journey!"
Harriet Borg-Bartolo, MA Human Resource Management
"My name is Harriet Borg-Bartolo and I'm studying a full time MA in Human Resource Management. I am originally from Birmingham but after studying my undergraduate degree in English Literature and Sociology at Newcastle University, I decided to stay here for one more year! I love Newcastle as a city and feel really lucky that there is so much for us to do, right on our doorstep. I love socialising with my friends, whether its out in town or just around at each other's houses. I'm hoping that the masters course will accelerate my career development, preparing me for what will be a competitive and demanding job market within the HR and management field."
Mohammad Ilyas Wali, MSc Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship
"With three years of work experience as a coordinator for one of the pioneering craft projects in Kashmir, I am currently pursuing an MSc in Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship at Newcastle University Business School. While choosing universities, Newcastle was an obvious choice for me because of its growing international reputation and the overall experience in this historic European city has been a pleasant surprise to me. Having gained access to diverse knowledge resources, along with a world-class supportive faculty, I plan to return to my homeland after my studies and put into practice my newly acquired entrepreneurial skills"
William Christer, Graduate Diploma in Finance, Accounting and Business
Prateek Kar, MA Advanced International Business Management
