Future employees are looking for a display of great academic performance, but more importantly, they are looking for a graduate with a wealth of skills, knowledge and experience from outside their area of academic study.
To help students build up a bank of experience the Business School has developed an international learning and teaching programme – Global Experience Opportunity (GEO) - to introduce students to the international business community and to help equip graduates with the talent and practical skills needed to succeed in global markets.
As part of the Business School’s drive to ‘go global’ the GEO enables students to connect the teaching in the classroom with the practicalities of the external working environment.
A global perspective is critical
Two thirds of graduate employers will not hire you without work experience. (The Graduate Market in 2011, highfliers.co.uk, 2011)
76% of employers value a global outlook over a degree. (Global Skills Gap research, Think-global.org.uk, 2011)
Global economies are becoming increasingly dependent on each other for business success.
If students want to succeed and lead in the business world, they will need to become a globally-minded and trained graduate.
The Business School is offering students to take unique opportunities to ensure that they stand out above a sea of graduates, enabling them to achieve their career aspirations.
Keep up to date with the Global Experience Opportunity by checking here regularly. Extra information can be found on the Business School’s Facebook page and the UG Matters bulletin as dates are released. Deadlines and key dates will be added throughout the year.
