Brief description of career since graduating…
Immediately upon graduating started Zeus Education (www.ZeusChina.com), which specialised in the creation and management of English Sixth Form colleges within Chinese Government schools, including the prestigious Yinghao College International Department (www.YCID.net).
I withdrew from this business in December 2009 for a variety of reasons and am no longer involved; however the business continues to operate. The first cohort of A-Level results came in recently, one student winning a place at Cambridge University.
During that time I began working in the family business (www.thistle.com.hk) a provider of affordable serviced apartments in Hong Kong.
Your current role: What are your responsibilities, what is a typical day like, what are the highs and lows of the job?
Current role is business development of our “Virtual Office” product across the Group which operates 32 Serviced Offices in 14 cities across Asia-Pacific. My role is mainly split into two functions; online strategy as the website is a major source of sales and the other is affiliates – forming relationships with potential partners.
High - the responsibility and opportunity of turning the virtual office department into a rival source of revenue for the group.
Low - dealing with all the obstacles that get in the way!
What are your main memories of your time at the Business School?
Fondest memories are of the Marketing Consultancy Project in 3rd year.
