Brief description of career since graduating…
Completed an Msc in International Banking and Finance at Durham immediately after graduating from Newcastle. I then secured a position in the assurance division at Deloitte (Newcastle). I was there for almost a year before moving to Ernst & Young (Dubai), where I worked in corporate finance and M&A for 3.5 years. In July 2009, I moved to my present position at The First Investor, the largest regulated investment bank in Doha, Qatar.
I am also starting a MBA at Oxford in September.
Your current role: What are your responsibilities, what is a typical day like, what are the highs and lows of the job?
I work on M&A and private placement deals, as well as some strategic advisory assignments. Lead role. Highs – Client interaction, compensation. Lows – Long hours, economic crisis has affected deal closing.
What are your main memories of your time at the Business School?
