Aims

To introduce students to a broad range of debates, perspectives and practical issues in the nature of enterprise and entrepreneurship within the social sciences.
1)To provide students with an integrated framework for the analysis of enterprise and entrepreneurship.
2)To enable students to reflect on the practices of enterprise and entrepreneurship.
3)To situate enterpirse and entrepreneurship activity within its wider economic, social and political contexts.

Original Summary:
Enterprise and Entrepreneurship are becoming increasingly important to the economic well being of many nations. This module gives students an opportunity to develop an awareness of the role of enterprise in the economy and society, and the key factors involved in their management. The subject is oriented at the study of enterprise rather than training the student to start and manage a small firm itself.

1) This is one of the key compulsory modules for the MSc in Innovation, Creativity and Enterprise. It runs across two semester, and entails the development of increasingly sophisticated perspectives on entrepreneurship.

2)Lecture deliver the theoretical underpinning of the key themes enterprise and entrepreneurship, providing a framework for students-centred learning.

3)Seminars and visits to organisations will focus on the practical application of theoretical concepts through case studies an dgroup discussions and ground these in empirical reality.

4) Student's private study complements the above.
