Original Summary:
The module provides students with an applied econometric foundation necessary in order to produce a high-standard of Masters dissertation. Lectures will build on the foundations provided in the semester one econometrics course using academic journals to both demonstrate real-world applications of econometrics, and to give a platform from which the seminars can build. These seminars will provide practical experience in applying econometric methods, cementing the student’s understanding of when and where various techniques should be applied. Furthermore, seminars will also provide practical experience of finding data.

3. The importance of descriptive statistics.
4. Dealing with data dependency and heteroskedasticity
5. Panel and cross-sectional data econometric techniques.
6. Correctly using and interpreting the output of Stata 7.0 and PCGive.
