Aims

This module aims to provide students with a detailed understanding of the nature and role of retail banks, investment banks and the corporate bank, within the domestic and international financial system. Online banking and new–developments in online banking such as zone of possible agreement companies will also be covered.

Original Summary:
This module gives an overview of the domestic and international financial system and the role of retail, investment banks and the corporate bank within these systems. The module involves discussion of banking from a theoretical perspective but also deals with the historical evolution of banks, including the most recent developments such as on-line retail banking and the significance of regulatory changes for investment banking.
