AACSB International logoThis program is endorsed by AACSB International, the premier accrediting body for business schools worldwide. Graduates of AACSB endorsed programs can be, based on determination of the hiring school, considered academically qualified for the period of five years from program completion.

Program overview

Students who successfully complete the program will have acquired the necessary expertise in research design and methods. They will be able to undertake a doctoral-level research project in management sciences.

They will also have the necessary skills to design, implement and evaluate a major research project dealing with business and managerial issues in the context of effectively managing technology, innovation and change.

At the end of the program, participants will be “Graduates of Grenoble Ecole de Management Post-Doctoral Bridge to Business program endorsed by AACSB International”.

Class profile

The main targets of the programs are associate professors who actually have a Ph.D. or a doctorate in non-business disciplines (non-business doctor associates), whether they are currently member of faculty or willing to candidate to a teaching position in an AACSB accredited business school.

The program prepares participants for academic careers in the field of management sciences: Marketing, Finance, Accounting, and Strategic Management. Special attention will also be paid to research topics in line with the United Nations Global Compact Initiative: sustainable development, corporate citizenship and business ethics.

Program and modules

The program is designed as a close adaptation of currently run DBA program at Grenoble Ecole de Management. The duration should be of two years. Each participant is coached by an academically qualified supervisor all along the program.

First year

The first year is dedicated to training of research techniques in the field of management. Participants must attend a series of three seminars. Location of these seminars will depend on the specialization track chosen by each participant. Also, a series of self-paced modules and collaborative activities will be put on the Moodle-based virtual campus.

Second year

From the beginning of the second year, each non-business doctor associate carries out a major research project which culminates in the submission of two articles to scientific journals. The two articles will be presented to a research seminar with the prior agreement of two blind referees designated by the Grenoble Ecole de Management AQ Bridge Program Steering Committee, one external and one internal to Grenoble Ecole de Management. Then, the articles will be submitted to peer-reviewed journals.

Admission

The recruitment will be based on the following criteria:

  • Holding a doctoral degree from a recognized university or school of management: PhD, DBA or DM;
  • Being a full time faculty or an associate faculty within a university or business school which is already accredited or applying for accreditation with AACSB, EQUIS or AMBA;
  • Having a letter of reference/support from her/his university or business school.

Applicants to the AQ Bridge Program who are not currently employed in an accredited business school and who are seeking such a position must send a cover letter demonstrating their willingness to apply for a teaching position in an AACSB-accredited business school and a detailed research project.

Next intake

The next intake is scheduled for spring 2008. Exact dates for workshops should be put online at the beginning of December 2007.

Application

For all doctor associates, the tuition fee will be 10,000 Euro (for the program as a whole). Part could be covered by the associate and the balance by a scholarship from the employing institution.

For US-based associates, the fee will be 14,000 US$, annually revised to adapt to currency fluctuations.
