What
did you do before you came to Newcastle?
Before coming to Newcastle I was a graduate student in the University of Athens
(School of Economics 2000-2005) as well as I did my military service in the
Hellenic Navy (2005-2006).
Why did you choose Newcastle University?
I chose Newcastle University as one of Britain’s top Universities and
one of the few Universities offering MSc programmes in the field of E-business.
What did you like the most about your degree?
I really enjoyed working as a part of a team which was necessary in many modules.
As a person with a business background I also enjoyed learning things with a
more technical character (e.g. creating web pages using simple HTML, learning
simple SQL commands etc).
Were the knowledge and skills gained useful when looking for a job?
Not long after I returned to my home country (Greece) I realized that the skills
obtained during this year were invaluable in order to find a job in a demanding
job market like the Greek one.
What do you do now? How's that relevant to your EBIS degree?
I just accepted a job offer and I will soon work as an IT auditor in Deloitte
(Greece). This job is directly related to the EBIS degree as it has to do with
the right functioning of Information Systems in the organizations.
Would you recommend Newcastle (the city) to your friends?
Without any doubt I would recommend the city of Newcastle to my friends. It
is a beautiful, live city with a lot of things to see and do and the locals
are friendly and helpful.
