Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Accreditation and Membership

In April 2004 the MA in International Human Management was accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). It is the only Master's degree in the United Kingdom in International HRM to be accredited by the CIPD. Newcastle University is unique in having two Masters' degrees (MA HRM and MA IHRM) recognised by this prestigious Institute.

To qualify for membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) you must successfully complete the MA in International Human Resource Management and produce a Continuous Professional Development log during your studies. You will then be able to transfer from student to Chartered Member of the CIPD. All members of the CIPD are required to produce a log on a continuous basis. It comprises a record of what you have done over the previous 12 months to develop yourself and what you plan to do over the next 12 months.

Newcastle University Business School are a CIPD Licensed Upgrade Centre. This enables your tutors to recommend students for upgrading to chartered membership.
