Currently Seconded to the role of Newcastle University Business School Placement Officer

Roles and Responsibilities

I am responsible for the management of undergraduate placements within the Business School. Working in conjunction with the Recruitment and Student Experience team; and the Engagement team, my role includes developing a network of employers to create placement opportunities and administratively monitoring and evaluating the placements.

UG International Student Officer - Roles and Responsibilities

I provide a high quality administrative and other key support to the School's Undergraduate students on the respective international collaborative venture portfolio of programmes. It is also part of my role to establish, monitor and review systems and liaise with the Deputy School Manger/UG Programme Administrator, Director of Undergraduate Studies and Degree Programme Directors on this work. I liaise closely with the International Office and INTO staff to ensure an efficient and effective working relationship. My role involves working closely with a wide range of staff internally to the School, admissions and other support services and internationally externally. I also play a key role as a contact for staff externally and liaise with a variety of University representatives, partner institutions and other organisations nationally and internationally.

I am one of three members of the Business School Professional Support Staff who are based in our Armstrong Building Student Support Office on main campus (rather than in our building on Barrack Road, opposite St James metro station).  Together we:

a)     administer the undergraduate admissions process in the School (for Home/EU and International applicants),

b)    support Stage 1 Business School students whose teaching is on main campus, and

c)     support students outside of the School studying modules on the Integrated Business Stream.
