My primary research centres on theoretical and empirical issues related to the elicitation of preferences for health gains and changes in mortality risk. In addition, my research focuses on methodological issues in stated preference techniques and how the use of economic experiments can contribute to the development of more robust methods for policy evaluation.  Recently, I have also extended my research into the study of risk preferences in areas such as the choice of health insurance and the association between risk preference, health behavior and religion.
