Introduction

Pushkar finished his PhD from Cass Business School, London in 2007. Since joining Newcastle University Business School, he has lectured in the areas of strategic management, research methods and business systems. He is involved in module re-design and development for several programmes, and is also the admissions selector on business management and international business programmes. 

His research interests have seen him associate with international donor agencies, policy makers, and with top management at blue chip firms. His work spans several areas including health-care, creative industries and poverty alleviation. He has been involved in research and development ventures with the International Chambers of Commerce, Employee Ownership Association(UK), Global Music Majors,and with NGOs in India working in the areas of health, water & sanitation and micro-enterprises.

UNFPA project on Reproductive and Sexual Health (1999-2000). Role- Project Coordinator (India-Nationwide):responsible for designing and organising the study to carry out monitoring and evaluation of investment and delivery mechanisms under the project in five states of India.

Government of India, National Drinking Water Mission Project (1998-1999). Role- Project Research Officer - I was responsible for executing monitoring and evaluation study of investment and delivery mechanisms under the project in two states of India

District Poverty Initiatives Project (DPIP) World Bank Project (1997-1998). Role- Project Officer (one of two POs)-responsible for capacity assessment and design of the project delivery mechanism. The project provided support for infrastructure and micro enterprise development in seven districts of the state of Rajasthan in India. The work saw award of Learning and Innovation Loan from the Bank.
