Aims

To enable students to:
1. Conduct and report a small scale empirical and/or theoretical study of a management topic.
2. To further develop students understanding of research methods.

Original Summary:
The Management Studies Dissertation gives students the opportunity to display their ability to apply elements of the management degree progrmame to a specific topic of their own choosing, to display their grasp of all the relevant issues surrounding that topic, and to demonstrate their enthusiasm and interest for that topic.

Outline Of Syllabus

Students can expect to receive up to four hours of personal supervision from their dissertation supervisor.

students will be required to complete a 2500 word essay in semester 1 that:

a)critically analyses one or more past dissertations to identify the strengths and weaknesses of it/them overall but with an emphasis on research methods

b)to apply this analysis to their original dissertation proposal

c)to provide a revised, brief proposal that will enable us to provide a better match between topic and supervisor."
