Delivery of the Flying Start Programme

Students in lectureThe Flying Start programme is delivered by a group of friendly and experienced lecturers who will give you guidance and support with your studies. We aim to provide a stimulating learning environment where you will be encouraged to develop your knowledge and skills over the four years of the programme.

Teaching, Learning and Assessment

We will use a variety of teaching and learning strategies to deliver the programme. These include lectures, seminars, workshops and group work. Certain parts of the programme will be assessed through closed-book examinations, while other parts will involve projects, essays and presentations.

Throughout the programme you are given many opportunities to get involved with all aspects of the degree. In Year 1 students can volunteer for a number of Student Rep positions from Social Reps to Reps helping out with Open Days or recruitment events.

Students are also given peer support through a system called Development Teams. Each team is assigned a mentor from the year above to help them settle into University life and to give advice about all aspects of the programme.
