Why did you Choose Newcastle?

The course was very important for me as I was sure I wanted one with a placement. This was the first course I had come across though whereby the placements were spread throughout the entire degree. The chance to work with PwC also seemed invaluable and as soon as I was offered an interview opportunity, I made this my number one university. The course also offers accreditation towards your professional ICAEW qualification which I realized was something that could open a lot of doors for me. The city of Newcastle also has an amazing vibe and atmosphere that’s matched by its awesome nightlife!

Did the Open Day help?

The information I got at the open day told me a lot more about the course itself and made me realize that it was definitely the course I wanted to study! All the students on the course were more than happy to talk to me and answer my questions as well as giving me an insight into what student life was really like. It also put me at ease about my interview process by taking my mind off it a bit and showing me different things the university has to offer.

Hint/Tip for the Open Day and Assessment Centre

Find out who you’re doing your group task with and get to know them a bit! Everyone will be a bit nervous but if you feel more at ease talking to them, you’ll feel more comfortable in the assessment. Bring lots of questions to ask your interviewer at the end because this shows that you’ve given thought to and are really interested in the course. Also relax. You won’t get any trick questions in the interview. Some might make you think a bit but if you have prepared well then you have nothing to worry about; the university and PwC just want to make sure they have the correct people on their course!
