Why did you Choose Newcastle?

Originally, I wanted to move as far away from home as possible, but when I was given the opportunity to take on this programme, I knew Newcastle was where I wanted to be! The programme offers so much more than any other related course I have seen and I knew it could help to bring out my full potential. I had been to Newcastle numerous times previously, and I knew from experience that it was a great city, with amazing nightlife. The transport links from the city centre are fantastic, so getting home is no issue.

Did the Open Day help?

Definitely! I thought it was very helpful to get a better feel of the university grounds. I spoke to a few different people who were already on the course, and they answered my questions. This was particularly helpful because it gave me a better idea of what to expect from being on the course, and being at Newcastle University in general.

Are you enjoying the degree?

Of course! It is even more enjoyable than I expected. There can be some pressure on you at odd times when there is a heavy workload, but at the end of the day, all the hard work definitely pays off! I find that the people on the course are all quality people, and really easy to get along with. The staff are very helpful, and you are well looked after.

Hint/Tip for the Open Day and Assessment Centre

PwC will send you a number of things that you should think about in preparation for your interview, so use these points to prepare thoroughly. The interviewer will not try to catch you out at all, so just keep calm and relax. Make sure you get to know people in your group task before hand, to relieve any tension between yourselves. Most of all, think positive, the whole process isn’t as scary as it sounds!
