Stage 4

Placement Location: London, Banking and Capital Markets
The main reason for me to choose Newcastle is the Business Accounting and Finance degree also know as Flying Start. Flying Start provides the opportunity to gain real practical experience via the placements throughout the course. The practical experience will help prepare me for life after university and give me a real advantage over other graduates.
The course is very well structured and the integrated nature of the placements is very beneficial. Classes before placement prepared me for working and theory learnt helped me to quickly get to grips with auditing. The knowledge learnt during classes is further enhanced during the placement period. The combination of the two helped me to build a solid foundation towards the ACA qualification and my future career.
The staff at the University, PwC and the ICAEW are extremely supportive. Academic tutors are available to answer any questions when I need help and are very approachable. PwC staff are extremely helpful with any job related issues before, during and after placement. The development teams and student reps group encouraged peer support and fellow students are always available to help out if we need any extra help.
So far all my placements have been extremely valuable. They allowed me to learn many new skills and expand my knowledge of auditing and accounting techniques. I have made lots of new friends and this has enlarged my social network which is crucial for my career in the future.
I very definitely want to join PwC once I graduate and finish the ACA qualification as quickly as possible.
