Placement with Hewlett Packard

During my 12-month internship I was involved in managing HP BladeSystem workshops in various HP offices in the UK, communicating product launches internally and externally. Specifically I was given ownership of in-depth reporting for the Industry Standard Server Business Unit.

I learnt a lot about how corporate companies work. I was able to see some of the pros and cons of a global company, and learn about the culture of a big company.

My presentation skills have improved a lot through doing the placement. My interviewing skills massively improved, and most of all my confidence.

My advice to anyone thinking of doing a placement? Take one! It’s one of the most helpful things you will ever do. It’s perfect for getting an idea of what you want to do when you finish university – and you learn so much. What’s more, it’s very enjoyable.
