End of Summer School party

Students finished on a high at the Newcastle United Certificate Award Party

All the students at Newcastle University's 2008 International Summer School successfully graduated from their programmes on the 9th August. They were presented certificates by Eric Cross, Dean of Cultural Affairs.

Eric had the pleasure of awarding certificates, smiling for the camera and thanking all the students for coming to Newcastle.  The event was a great success, giving the students the opportunity to congratulate each other on their successes, socialise for one last time and say their goodbyes.

On the whole, the best part of the Summer School for the students was meeting people from all over the world. And for the University, the best part of the Summer School was teaching students from other countries, with fresh ideas and different perspectives.

As Elizabeth Pallister, tutor for the International Politics programme said, "I had an amazing group of students; teaching an international subject to such a bright international group created discussions no one wanted to have to end".

So all in all, the Summer School for 2008 was a very mutually beneficial international exchange.
