Entry Requirements

For entrance to our research programmes you should hold an upper second class degree (2:1) (or international equivalent) in law or a related subject, or a Masters degree.

Where it is relevant, we require evidence of English language ability in the form of IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL 600.

If you do not have IELTS 7.0 or equivalent at present, then it may be possible to offer you a place to read for PhD at the same time as arranging for you to study English at the University first for a specified period of time. More information about our English language courses is available from the Open Access Centre.

We are flexible, and we will try to create a package that is suitable to your needs.

In addition to pre-entry language assistance, all students for whom English is not a first language are given the opportunity to continue studying English whilst they read for their degree.

International applicants may also want to read the University's information for international students.
