Selection Criteria

When you apply for one of our research programmes we will consider several important criteria. In particular we need evidence of :

  • your suitability to undertake a doctoral programme
  • proficiency in the English language, where appropriate
  • your suitability to undertake a research project within the allotted time span

In order to help us determine whether all these criteria are met, we will need your application to provide:

  • information about your qualifications and experience
  • details of two referees
  • a research proposal.
In making our decision we will also consider the availability of:
  • a supervisory team in the Law School which is qualified to supervise your chosen research project
  • resources in the Law School to support your research project to a successful conclusion
