European Intellectual Property Teachers’ Network

Newcastle Law School
Held Sunday 29th/Monday 30th June 2008

Newcastle Law School hosted the second workshop of the European Intellectual Property Teachers' Network (EIPTN), which brought together individuals from across Europe to exchange ideas on best practice and innovation in teaching and learning activities relating to intellectual property.

EIPTN was interdisciplinary in focus, reflecting intellectual property teaching in a range of disciplines. It is the successor to the UK Intellectual Property Teachers’ Network, established in 2001. The support of the European Patent Academy has enabled the network’s scope to be expanded.

See the European Intellectual Property Teachers' Network website for more information.

The themes of the 2008 workshop were:

  1. IP teaching and learning processes;
  2. IP teacher and learner experiences; and
  3. the environments in which IP teaching and learning takes place.

The keynote address at the 2008 workshop was given by Guy Carmichael of the European Patent Office: "Scenarios for the Future" Project.
