Visiting Professor delivers State of Art Lecture at NUMed
On 25th October, Professor Alastair Burt delivered a State of the Art Lecture entitled 'Fatty Liver Disease: The Pathology of Gluttony' on the NUMed campus. Professor Burt is a pathologist specialising in liver disease and is Dean of Medicine and Head of the Medical School, University of Adelaide, Australia. He was previously sub-Dean of Medicine at Newcastle University, UK.
This was one of a series of lectures to be delivered on the NUMed campus by illustrious visiting academics which have included Professor Sir John Burn, a leading expert in Human Genetics; Sir Liam Donaldson, Chief Medical Officer for England until 2010; and Professor Nigel Eastman, a Professor of Law and Ethics in Psychiatry.
