Current Role:

Senior Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy at NuMed Malaysia.

Qualifications :

I qualified in 1999 with a B.SC Honours in Pharmacy from the University of Manchester, UK. In 2006 I completed the “Pharmacist Independent Prescriber Practice Certificate at the University of Sunderland, UK.

 

Roles and responsibilities :

Since qualifying as a pharmacist in 1999, I have worked in hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy and in primary care as an Independent prescriber, where I specialised in Primary Prevention and Hypertension management.

I have been involved with teaching nurses, doctors and junior pharmacists for the past 14 years and have been a pre-registration pharmacist tutor for 6 years, tutoring individual trainees and taking part in delivery of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Programme for Pre-Registration Pharmacists.

I joined NuMed in February 2014 and have been involved in teaching Pharmacology, Therapeutics and Prescribing. I also lead our first Interprofessional Education event at NuMed which consisted of a series of stimulating and innovative interprofessional workshops focusing on safe prescribing.

My research interests lie in Medical and Pharmacy Education and in particular Interprofessional Education.
