Intercalation
We encourage highly motivated and able medical students to step aside from your mainstream medical studies to intercalate a period of additional study which will take place in the UK. Opportunities for NUMed Malaysia students to intercalate are provided at two stages in the MB BS programme, after completion of either Stage 2 or Stage 4.
- Following successful completion of Stage 2: NUMed Malaysia students wishing to pursue the study of a biomedical science in depth will be able to elect to intercalate the final year of one of the BSc degrees offered for intercalation at Newcastle University UK.
- Following successful completion of Stage 4: students who wish to pursue a structured research study in depth will be able to elect to intercalate for the Master of Research (MRes) in Medical and Biomolecular Science offered for intercalation at Newcastle University UK.
Following completion of the intercalation year, you will return to the Malaysian campus to conclude the remainder of the MBBS programme.
