Significant technical advances in the last 20 years have made medium to high throughput metabolite profiling (targeted or non-targeted) possible and its results have had a high impact in many different fields related to biology, biomedicine, biotechnology or chemical engineering.

The first Newcastle University Metabolomics workshop is aiming to provide a forum for the discussion of these results, for an exchange of ideas for new experiments and for the exploration of generating uniform access to locally available resources.
