CALM - Computer Aided Lifestyle Management
CALM - Computer Aided Lifestyle Management - is a new, self-access, online multimedia programme available to all students and staff at Newcastle University. It uses interactive self-help tools to help you identify issues such as anxiety, depression, insomnia, stress and substance misuse.
Once you have identified any issues, CALM can help you to deal with your thoughts and feelings associated with them.

Obtain my CALM activation code.
- You will need your University/campus login ID to obtain the activation code.
Access the CALM system [you must have an activation code]
- Go directly to the CALM site and register* or sign in. You will be able to identify your personal profile, set personal targets and track your progress. Only you can get to your information - the programme is confidential.
* an important note about security. Do not use the same username and password for the CALM system that you use for your ISS login. You should never use your University/campus login ID on external sites. ISS provides extensive advice on security.
- Step 1 - Click the CALM link above.
- Step 2 - You will be directed to the CALM site
- Step 3 - Click on 'New User'
- Step 4 - Enter the activation code.
- Step 5 - Set up your individual username and password
