Eyesight Testing
Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Worker
In line with current legislation an eyesight test will be carried out for users on request. The Occupational Health service can advise on eyesight test procedure and safe working practice with DSE. Expenses Regulations provide guidance on how to claim expenses for eyesight test and/or corrective DSE spectacles.
Laser Vision Screening
In compliance with the University Radiation Protection Office Rules Governing the use of Lasers, all employees registered for working with Class 3B and Class 4 lasers will have an ophthalmic examination. Occupational health will advise on who to organsie this eyesight test before you start this work. A final examination, similar to the initial examination, should be made when a laser worker ceases laser work or leaves the University.
