Referrals

At the discretion of the Examinations Board, any delegate who has failed a module may be permitted to:

  • either resit the examination for that module the next time that it is examined, normally 18 months thereafter,
  • and/or resubmit the assignment by a date to be agreed with the Director.

The module grade for any module for which such a resit examination and/or assignment is successfully completed will be deemed to be Grade 8.

Note that there is no requirement to both resit an examination and resubmit the assignment for a failed module.

Resubmission

At the discretion of the Examinations Board, any delegate who has failed the Industrial Project may be invited to resubmit the dissertation by a specified date. The resubmission would then be re-assessed on the same basis as the original and, if found to be of an acceptable standard, the grade for the Industrial Project would be deemed to be Grade 8.

Note that the MSc degree awarded to any delegate invited to resubmit the dissertation for the Industrial Project is not accredited.
