Local Management
Committee
Unlike other courses within the University, the IGDS has a Local Management Committee (LMC) which has a considerable degree of authority vested in it. The LMC is legitimised by the Statement of Intent.
Membership of the LMC consists of representatives of both the University and the PACT consortium of companies. There is a majority of industrialists on the LMC which is also chaired by an industrialist.
The LMC determines the general direction of the IGDS and is responsible for all aspects of its operation. This embraces admissions, course structure, module specification, curriculum development, assessment arrangements, quality auditing, administration, marketing, business planning and investment of PACT resources.
The minutes of the LMC
meetings are the definitive record of
policy decisions with regard to all aspects of the operation
of the IGDS.
