ACE Days (Aiming for a College Education)

Aiming for a College Education (ACE) is an event for year 10 students which aims to increase awareness of and raise aspirations toward higher education. Pupils work in groups taking part in a range of interactive sessions related to university, and are assisted by a current university student throughout the day.
Intended Learner Outcomes
- Be able to access and interpret higher education information related to subject choices and potential career choices
- Be able to recognise that the choices they make in school are related to their progression into FE/HE and their chosen career
- Be able to show some understanding of the scope of careers and higher education opportunities
- Begin to recognise ways in which higher education might fit into their overall career plan and where it fits into the world of employment and careers generally – ie they are beginning to understand part of the purpose and potential of going to university

- University articulate
- 11.45am – Lunch and campus activities
- 1.15pm – Design your own university
- 1.50pm – University Challenge Quiz
- 2.15pm Evaluation and depart
