Year 11 Discover Days Saturday 3 March 2012

We have a wide range of Discover Days which aim to give Year 11 pupils an insight into some of the fascinating subjects that you can study at University. The sessions will not only be relevant to future study but also tie in with some of the wider themes you encounter in your current studies.

Discover Days On Offer

Discover Biology - you will consider the rich variability of life in our oceans, but also the problems it can pose for humans.
Discover Biomedical Sciences - come and work in the labs and simulate how a virus can spread through a population.
Discover Chemistry - learn about the chemicals in sweets and see some spectacular demonstrations.
Discover Dentistry - come and take part in practical sessions and learn new skills in the Clinical Training Lab.
Discover English - come and learn what it is like to be an English student with tasters in English Language and Literature.
Discover Geography - this class will focus on different angles of debate surrounding climate change.
Discover Geomatics - come and create a 3D fly through of the earthquakes on the San Andreas fault.
Discover History - in this Discover History Day we will introduce you to the study of History at university.
Discover Maths - use familiar Maths to solve problems with surprising answers!
Discover Medical Sciences - come along and gain a real insight into the practical side of studying Medicine.
