To help you find out if university is right for you, take part in one of our events and activities. We deliver events and activities for students in Years 10, 11, 12 and 13 (and college equivalent), and parents/carers, that are designed to help you find out more about university life and study.

| 3 March 2012 | Discover Days | An opportunity for students to attend a Discover Day for a subject area that they are interested in. This event is a great opportunity to see what University is like, learn more about your subject area and university study. |

| November 2011 - May 2012 | Accommodation Tours | Led by undergraduate students, these walking tours give prospective students the opportunity to visit both catered and self-catered accommodation at Newcastle University. | Find out more about Accommodation Tours |
| March 2012 (exact dates will depend on the subject area) | An opportunity to find out more about the different degree programmes available at Newcastle University. | May - November 2012 | Campus Tours | The opportunity to have a look round the campus and see facilities such as the students' Union, the Library, the Sports Centre and a Halls of Residence. The tour is led by current University students so you can ask all the questions you may have about student life at Newcastle University. | These one and a half hour tours will run on a fortnightly basis from May until the end of November. A joint event run by Newcastle and Northumbria Universities that aims to inform delegates about topical issues relating to progression to HE. The Conference is aimed at teachers, tutors, Aimhigher and Connexions colleagues and other professionals involved in the provision of HE guidance to students. |

| 3 March 2012 | The Parent and Carer Conference can help parents and carers support young people in the decisions they will have to make about university. The event will cover many topics including student finance, accommodation, student wellbeing and graduate employability. | 7 December 2011 | Student Finance - the Real Deal | This event will help you and your child to understand how the new student finance package works by providing relevant information about Higher Education funding. It will enable you all to make an informed decision about going to university. The event is part of ‘National Student Finance Day’ and is aimed at parents and carers of students in Years 11, 12 and 13 or currently at college. |

| Series of events from October 2011 to May 2012 | Choices Together | Choices Together is a collaborative project between Newcastle Unviersity, the University of Sunderland and Northumbria University. The project is aimed at Looked After Young People from Years 10 and 11 from across the region. Students taking part visit all three Tyne and Wear universities over a number of sessions offered throughout the year.
