Guaranteed Offer Scheme

Student at the Assessed Summer School

Receive a guaranteed offer to Newcastle University through the Guaranteed Offer Scheme. This scheme is only available to students in PARTNERS schools and colleges (state schools only), and encourages you to achieve your potential in exams by giving you (if eligible) a guaranteed conditional offer, at the typical entrance requirement level for the degree programme(s) you have applied for. Once you have received an offer, it's up to you to work hard and get the grades!

The Guaranteed Offer Scheme applies to all degree programmes at Newcastle University, except where selection is based on grades, plus other criteria (such as assessment, portfolio and interviews). This applies to:

How do I know if I am eligible?

In order to be eligible for the Guaranteed Offer Scheme (2014 entry) you must fulfil the following criteria:

  • your school or college (state schools only) must be involved in PARTNERS.
  • you must meet any specific subject requirements at A level (and equivalent), and GCSE, listed on our Undergraduate website for the course(s) to which you've applied
  • your predicted grades must be within two grades of the typical offer. For example, if the typical offer is AAB, and you are predicted to achieve BBB, you will receive a guaranteed conditional offer of AAB from the University. Where the typical offer is expressed as a range eg AAA-BBB, you must be predicted to achieve within two grades of the top of the range. Students studying BTEC qualifications or the International Baccalaureate will be considered on an individual basis
  • you must meet all UCAS deadlines when submitting your UCAS form - 15 January for all applications that are eligible for the Guaranteed Offer Scheme

How do I apply?

You will automatically receive a conditional offer from the University. The offer will be the same as listed in our Undergraduate website for the degree programme(s) concerned. You don't need to apply separately.
