When will the Summer School take place?

The Summer School will run between approximately 9.30am and 4.15pm each day (between 30 June and 9 July 2014), although you may have 'free periods' during this time. You are expected to attend all of your timetabled sessions and complete assessed work, which is based on the work that you cover at the Summer School. The deadline for the submission of the assessed work will be Tuesday 22 July 2014.

What will I be doing on the Assessed Summer School?

Your time at the Summer School will be made up of both academic sessions and supporting HE skills. Your academic sessions will take up the majority of your time and are related to the course that you plan to study at the University.

You will attend a variety of lectures, tutorials and practical sessions, depending on the subject you are studying, and your assessment will be based on the work you do in these sessions, and handed in by 22 July 2014.

You will be introduced to the IT and library facilities at the University, and to a variety of study skills that will support the work you do at the Summer School and help ease the transition to university.

Why do I need to attend the Assessed Summer School?

The PARTNERS Assessed Summer School gives you the confidence to make a successful transition from school/college to university, and enables you to demonstrate your academic potential to tutors at the University.

Who will I be working with at the Assessed Summer School?

A number of current students, who have previously taken part in the Assessed Summer School, work with us as Reps during the Summer School period, helping to run sessions and organise social activities. There are a number of social activities over the course of the Summer School which will help you to get to know each other.
