Assessment at the Summer School

Student at the Assessed Summer School

All students who attend the Assessed Summer School are required to complete assessed work. It is based on the work that you cover at the Summer School, which must be completed and handed in by or before Tuesday 24 July 2012. We strongly advise students to keep the time between the end of the Summer School (11 July) and this hand-in date free, so you are able to complete all of the required work.

This work gives you the chance to demonstrate your potential for study at the University and forms part of your conditional PARTNERS offer. Your Summer School results will be considered alongside your A level (and equivalent) results.

The nature of the work that you do will depend on the academic subject strand that you are studying, but you may have to write an essay, prepare a report, sit an exam or a combination of these exercises. You are expected to complete the work to a high standard and hand it in on time.

You will be given help, advice and support from The Student Recruitment Team, and academic tutors, on what is expected of you during the Summer School. More information on what was asked of students in 2011 can be seen in the academic subject strands.

Your work will be assessed by the academic tutors who teach you on the Summer School and an external examiner makes sure that the work is marked fairly and equally across all subject strands.
