Dr Ilke Turkmendag has been awarded one of only two Mildred Blaxter post-doctoral fellowships funded by the Sociology of Health and Illness Foundation for 2011-2012. The focus of her work during the Fellowship will be ‘Donor conception, secrecy and the voice of the UK patients’. The Fellowship will allow her to publish some of her PhD research, and develop a new research programme based on her PhD work: ‘The removal of donor anonymity in the UK: the silencing of claims by would-be parents’. She will continue to be based in PEALS at Newcastle University for the one-year Fellowship.
