Professor Janice McLaughlin's time as Executive Director comes to an end on 31st July after five years in the role.
We are very pleased to announce that the University Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation, Professor Nick Wright, has formally approved Professor Erica Haimes as Janice's replacement from 1st August.
Erica noted 'PEALS is a valued research centre both within and beyond Newcastle University, making a substantial contribution to the University's vision of 'excellence with a purpose'. I am very fortunate to be stepping into the role at a time when the Centre's profile is strong and its vision for the future clear. PEALS will continue to develop its international profile in research, teaching/learning and in providing evidence-informed advice to policymakers and practitioners. We look forward to working in partnership with our colleagues and with a number of local, regional, national and international communities’.
