Background

I work to provide a comprehensive professional support service to the Head and Executive Board of the School in order to meet the objectives of the School, Faculty and University and assure the future sustainability and growth of the School.

My role includes being responsible for preparation and implementation of the School's strategic plan on behalf of the School's Executive Board. I also lead, with the Head of School, on the feasibility, planning, co-ordination and implementation of large scale projects with internal and external stakeholders and the senior management team of the University where these are related to learning and teaching, research or business.

I also undertake the strategic planning necessary to ensure that the School can properly address all aspects of the Quality Assurance processes for taught programmes, including internal and external subject reviews, degree programme reviews and professional accreditation

The role also includes management of and advice and guidance to the Head of School in relation to a range of School operational aspects including HR, financial reporting and management, estates and health and safety alongside the detailed co-ordination of School governance structures, including supporting and preparing reports for the School Board of Studies.

I am also responsible for the leadership and line management of administrative support teams within the School.

Previously at Durham University I worked in a range of roles including those supporting the University's quality management framework and in policy support and project management roles.
