This MA is designed for both experienced teachers and students who have little or no teaching experience.

Students who reach a satisfactory standard in their taught modules may be able to progress to the Integrated PhD in Educational and Applied Linguistics subject to a successful interview.
You should have at least an upper second-class Honours degree or an international equivalent, preferably in a language subject, but other degrees may be considered. We consider applications from candidates with more than two years of teaching experience as well as those with little or no teaching experience.
Applicants whose first language is not English should have IELTS 6.5 overall with at least 6.5 in writing and 6.0 in all other sub sections, TOEFL 90, with no sub score below: Reading 22, Listening 21, Speaking 24, Writing 24 (Internet-based), or equivalent.

There is no closing date for this programme. However, international students applying for September 2013 entry should apply by Friday 12 July 2013 to ensure that they have time to put appropriate arrangements in place.
Please note: As a formal condition of the offer to study at Newcastle University, students from outside the UK/EU are required to pay a deposit of £1,500 or submit an official letter of sponsorship for their chosen programme. The deposit payment is non refundable, but will be deducted from tuition fees upon registration.
