This programme aims to train the Environmental Managers of the future. Accredited by the Energy Institute, the programme is suitable for students with engineering or pure science backgrounds and provides training in environmental management and sustainable development in an industrial context.
You will gain advanced knowledge and understanding in the following areas:
The specialist skills, knowledge and understanding you develop through the taught element of the programme will be put into practice in a significant individual research project and written dissertation. A key feature of the programme is the involvement of industry in delivery of parts of the programme and the opportunity to carry out an industrial placement.

A minimum of a second-class Honours degree, or international equivalent, in a pure or applied science (e.g. physics, chemistry, biology, environmental science, microbiology) or engineering subject (any discipline).
Applicants whose first language is not English require a minimum of IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 90 (Internet-based), or equivalent.

There is no closing date for this programme. However, international students applying for September 2013 entry should apply by Friday 12 July 2013 to ensure that they have time to put appropriate arrangements in place.
Please note: As a formal condition of the offer to study at Newcastle University, students from outside the UK/EU are required to pay a deposit of £1,500 or submit an official letter of sponsorship for their chosen programme. The deposit payment is non refundable, but will be deducted from tuition fees upon registration.
